Davis. Join us and delve into the world of abolitionist theory and contemplate what abolition means for us in our context here in Finland, both as political beings and rebellious humans. On this second meeting we are discussing the last chapters 4–6 of the book. The book is available online at theanarchistlibrary.org/mirror/a/ay/angela-y-davis-are-prisons-obsolete.pdf . It is also easily accessible in audiobook format for free on the internet. The book explores potential alternatives to the prison system that could transform the justice system from a punitive instrument of control and retribution into a tool capable of changing lives for the better through a combination of autobiography and academic examination. It is a core text in the prison abolition movement. ... See MoreSee Less
